About the Speakers:

1) Dr Ruben Abati
Ruben Abati is a first class honours graduate of the University of Calabar. He is the chairman of the editorial board of the Guardian newspapers. He is also a lawyer and one of the most important public commentators in Nigeria. His column also appears regularly on many Nigerian popular media channels.

He has won a number of awards including: the Cecil King Memorial Prize for Print Journalist of the Year in 1998; the Diamond Award for Media Excellence for Informed Commentary in 1998; Fletcher Challenge Commonwealth Prize for Opinion Writing in 2000; the Diamond Award for Media Excellence for Informed Commentary, 2000; just to mention a few.

 

2) Prof A. S. Sambo
Abubakar Sani Sambo was the Vice Chancellor of a Federal University before assuming the responsibilities of the Energy Commission in Nigeria. A consummate professional and academic; he has help driven the direction of Energy development in Nigerian for over a decade now. He is an in demand public speaker.

He currently chairs the African table of the World Energy congress.

 

3) Prof Osibajo
Yemi Osibajo is the immediate past Attorney general of Lagos state. He is a gifted lawyer considered by even his own colleagues as one of the most brilliant lawyers in Nigeria today. He is up to speed with the ethos of regulation and has a bias for Energy. He has been a significant campaigner for transparency and accountability.

He is also a member of the Editorial board of Energia Today and the executive director of the Elias foundation.

 

2) Prof Ofuegbu
Professor Charles Ofoegbu obtained a PhD in geophysics in 1982 to significant international acclaim. He has been a very successful academic having served at the University of Port Harcourt, The Freie Universitat, Berlin, The Rivers State University and the Vice Chancellor of the VERITAS University.

As a public servant and private sector participant, he was a special adviser to the governor of Abia state on Mineral resources and environmental protection. He had been the head of exploration research at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. Other positions include managing consultant Habitat consult limited, CEO Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute and more.

He has a unique ability to harmonize political and business interest and a very sought after speaker. He will be coming on the platform of the African Business Roundtable (ABR) where he will be representing the head of the ABR.
